Krasny Defence Technologies Limited (KDTL) was founded with an objective of enhancing self-sufficiency in life cycle support of Russian-origin defense Equipment in the Indian Navy, by harnessing veteran expertise and advanced industrial capability. As a pioneer in the private sector for refit of Indian Coast Guard ships, the company has set high benchmarks for quality and timely completion of refits.

Having established an OEM supported advanced repair facility, Krasny has earned its reputation as a leader in electronic repair and technical support, working in close association with Russian OEMs and with endorsement of the Ministry of Defence of both India and Russia, to serve the Army, Navy and Air Force. That is the kind of accomplishment which speaks louder than words.

Aligned with the Make in India initiative, Krasny has expanded into the design and development of import substitutes and defence-specific products, forging strong alliances with leading Indian enterprises to strengthen the national defence ecosystem. Krasny is known for charting its own course and making a way where there is none, as leaders in different domains. The asset light model, a novel make in India approach for MSMEs, has been demonstrated through the strategic JVs that have been established by Krasny for different product segments. Another first of its kind, is the foray made by Krasny into commercial ship building in one of the most advanced shipyards in Russia.

Cdr. (Dr) V. G. Jayaprakasan IN (Retd.)

A naval war veteran of the 1971 Indo-Pak conflict, Cdr. Jayaprakasan brings with him a legacy of service and leadership. After a distinguished career in the Indian Navy, he founded Krasny in 1995 with a clear purpose: to advance India’s self-reliance in life cycle support of defence equipment and to harness the expertise of ex-servicemen for the nation’s strategic strength.

Mrs. Sarala Jayaprakash

The philanthropic heart of Krasny, Mrs. Jayaprakash leads staff welfare and CSR initiatives with grace and conviction. A graduate in English Literature and a homemaker by choice, she embodies the values of care and responsibility, ensuring that the company’s growth is always grounded in humanity.

Mr. Naveen Jayaprakasan

A graduate in Management Studies and a Master’s in Computer Applications from the United Kingdom, Mr. Naveen Jayaprakasan began his career at Krasny in 2001 as a management trainee. Today, he serves as the Joint Managing Director, bringing with him a contemporary corporate outlook and a passion for innovation. A keen sports enthusiast, he combines discipline and energy with strategic vision to guide the company’s growth in a rapidly evolving defence landscape.

With the onset of 2025, Mr. Naveen has also taken on the mantle of spearheading the Ship Refit & Repair Division as the Managing Director in the 100% subsidiary company viz. Krasny Marine Services Pvt. Ltd.

VAdm. Makarand Aravind Hampiholi PVSM, AVSM, NM, IN (Retd.)

VAdm. Makarand Aravind Hampiholi is a former Flag Officer of the Indian Navy. He has served as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command. Previously, he has also served as the Commandant of Indian Naval Academy and served as the Director General Naval Operations. A leader and visionary, his contribution will play a major role in furthering the vision and objectives of the company.

Vice Admiral V. Venkat Bharathan, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, IN (Retd.)

Vice Admiral Venkat Bharathan, a distinguished alumnus of the National Defence Academy, the Defence Services Staff College, and the Naval War College, USA, is a naval aviator of exceptional merit. He retired as Vice Chief of the Indian Navy after an illustrious career marked by key commands at sea and ashore. His tenure also included representing India as the Naval Attaché in Washington, D.C., a role that underscored his strategic acumen and diplomatic strength.

Commodore Naresh Kumar, VSM, IN (Retd.)

Commodore Naresh Kumar, a veteran electrical officer of the Indian Navy, served the force with distinction for over three decades. He later assumed charge as Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Shipyard Limited, where his leadership furthered India’s shipbuilding capabilities. Beyond the Navy, he has held senior positions in the defence industry, including Senior Executive Vice President for Naval Systems at Reliance Defence, and has worked with several global majors in advancing technology development.

Avrora (India) Marine Systems Pvt. Ltd.

Avrora (India) Marine Systems Pvt Ltd [Avrora (India)] is an Indo-Russian Joint Venture established between M/s. Concern Avrora Scientific & Production Association JSC, Russia [Avrora (Russia)], holding 51% shares and M/s. Krasny Defence Technologies Ltd, Navi Mumbai, holding 49% shares.

The Corporate office of Avrora (India) is located in Navi Mumbai Avrora (India) was incorporated on 09 July 2001 with the key objective of improving the quality and content of ‘Life time product support’ services for ‘Avrora(Russia)’ make control systems in service onboard ships and submarines of the Indian Navy.

Krasny Paras Defence Private Limited

Krasny Paras Defence Private Limited is a trusted name in precision defence solutions and advanced military technologies.

Formed in 2021 with a 50:50 shareholding between Krasny Defence and Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd., this alliance combines expertise to produce indigenous solutions in electro-optics, radar, navigation, command and control, and hull structures. It is where innovation meets self-reliance.

Vimal Fire Krasny Defence Private Limited

Formed in 2022 with a 50:50 shareholding between Vimal Fire Controls Pvt. Ltd. and Krasny Defence, this Joint Venture specializes in advanced fire safety and protection solutions for defence applications.

This partnership unites fire safety leadership with marine defence strength and Its primary focus is to provide advanced fire detection and suppression systems for ships and submarines, including magazine fire-fighting systems under Make in India. Safety at sea, redefined.

Keltron Krasny Defence Systems Pvt. Ltd.

Keltron Krasny Defence Systems Pvt. Ltd. develops cutting-edge electronic and defence systems to enhance operational efficiency.

This JV formed in 2023 post receiving approval of the Kerala Government and having 51:49 shareholding pattern between Krasny Defence and Keltron, merges Keltron’s electronics and software excellence with Krasny’s naval expertise.

Together, they deliver cutting-edge solutions in hydro-acoustics, electronics, and microwave technologies for India’s defence forces.

JSC ROSOBORON EXPORT

JSC Rosoboronexport is the sole state intermediary agency for Russia’s exports/imports of defence related & dual-use products, technologies and services.

Krasny has entered into a collaboration agreement with JSC Rosoboronexport for manufacturing of Sonars, Magazine Fire Fighting Systems and Shore Based sonars in line with the Atmanirbhar Policy of the Indian Government.

JSC MEEC

JSC Marine Equipment Engineering Corporation (MEEC) are a newly formed umbrella corporation in Russia, under which there are 04 major corporations covering the entire range of marine electronics in the Naval spectrum. The 04 corporations under JSC MEEC are:

JSC Morinformsystems Agat

JSC MorinformsystemsAgat is an umbrella organization comprising 15 important institutes and plants specialized in the field of Marine Electronics and Information technologies, namely: Shipborne and Coastal Multifunctional Surveillance Radars, Naval Missile and Artillery Fire Control Systems, Combat Information and Weapons Operation Systems, Computer Aided Integrated Ship Management Systems, Artillery Control Complexes, Sonar- Local and Global Surveillance Systems, Safe Arms Simultaneous Use Systems, Fire Warning and Fire Fighting Systems.

Krasny are the Authorised Representatives of JSC Agat in the territory of India and are responsible for undertaking the after-sales services support of the entire range of JSC Agat products installed onboard all Indian Naval platforms.

The scope of the Strategic Partnership has been recently widened to also include manufacturing of spares in India, consistent with the Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) between Russian Federation and Republic of India

SHIPBUILDING COMPLEX ZVEZDA

The Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex is the largest Shipyard in Russia located in the town of Bolshoi Kamen, across the bay of Vladivostok. Established by a consortium of investors led by the Russian oil company Rosneft, the company has since attracted a large number of orders for Oil Tankers, LNG Carriers and Ice Breakers.

Since 2023, Krasny has been successfully undertaking a large number of projects ranging from Electrical Outfitting, Equipment Installation, Block Construction and Blasting & Painting. Presently, Krasny has a team of over 250 personnel actively engaged at the Shipyard.

JSC USC

JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation is the largest shipbuilding company in Russia comprising of around 40 shipbuilding companies, ship repair yards and leading design bureaus.

Krasny has entered into a General Agreement of Partnership with JSC USC having the flowing framework:

• ❖ Servicing of military purpose products, their technical maintenance, repairs including upgrade and extension of service life.
• ❖ Re-equipping of ships and submarines under mid-life upgrade.
• ❖ Repair of defective modules / assemblies in India or at OEM premises in Russia.
• ❖ Supply of spare parts, aggregates, units, instruments, components and special training & auxiliary equipment.

JSC Zaslon

Joint-stock Company ZASLON is the largest scientific and technical centerin Russia with expertise in development, production, and supply of information and complex automated control systems, software, instrumentation, and microelectronics.

Krasny has partnered with JSC Zaslon as a technology partner for high-end radars.

JSC RADAR MMS

Formed in 1991, JSC Radar MMS specializes in the development and production of radar systems for various applications. Radar systems developed by JSC Radar MMS are used in various industries, including aviation, defence, meteorology, and maritime applications. The company's product portfolio includes long-range air defence radar systems, coastal surveillance radars, weather radars, and air traffic control systems.

Krasny has a General Partnership Agreement with JSC Radar MMS to market and sell their entire range of dual-use and civilian products in the territory of India.

JSC ROSMA

JSC Rosma’s supply chain offers comprehensive solutions for supply of Aviation Oils and Greases, Hydraulic oils, Special greases, Nefras& Solvents, Brake fluids, Oils for the power industry etc.

Krasny has been accorded the rights of representation of the interests of ZAO ROSMA, related to sales of Russian Petroleum Oils, Lubricants and Tyres in the Territory of India.

OOO SOVINCOM LIMITED

OOO Sovinkom are suppliers of a wide array of Russian origin spares for Transport Aircraft viz. IL, AN and TU and Cargo Helicopters viz. Mi-8 and Mi-16.

Krasny have been designated as their representatives in India.

Hock Seng Marine Eng. Pte Ltd

Hock Seng Marine Engineering Pte Ltd, founded in Singapore in the 1980s (previously known as Hock Seng Marine Fittings Company), is a well-established marine engineering organization specializing in the design and fabrication of marine grade windows, doors, hatches, ladders and other types of hull outfittings to an interior accommodation system like lining/wall/ceiling panels and pre-fabricated sanitary modules.

Krasny has been designated as the Authorised Representatives of Hock Seng Marine Pte. Ltd. in India.
